Chosen People Ministries returns to Ascension on Sunday, September 20, during both our 8:30am and 10:30am worship services.
Guest speaker Michael Cohen* will lead us through the biblical fall feasts of Israel (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot), exploring their meaning in Scripture and how they point toward the Messiah.
For Christians, these ancient observances provide a fascinating window into the Jewish roots of our faith. Together, we'll look at the biblical traditions, symbols, and promises surrounding these holy days and discover connections that can deepen our understanding of both the Old and New Testaments.
This special teaching will be incorporated into both Sunday worship services, so no separate registration is necessary. Whether you've studied the Jewish roots of Christianity before or this is completely new to you, you're welcome to join us.
*About the speaker: A native of the San Fernando Valley, Michael Cohen was raised in a conservative Jewish home. Through a series of unlikely circumstances, he met a young Jewish believer named Lisa. He was curious about her faith, and after reading a copy of the New Testament she had given him, he accepted the Lord. Michael has served as a deacon, elder, and teacher in a Messianic congregation. Together with his wife, Lisa, Michael remains in the Los Angeles area and serves as a missionary with Chosen People Ministries. He also serves in the children’s program at his local messianic congregation, discipling both Jewish seekers and new Jewish believers, and communicating the gospel to the interfaith community through specifically sensitive outreach.
