Mike was born and raised in a small farm town in Central Illinois where he and his family were members of the Faith United Presbyterian Church. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Mike joined TRW (now Northrop Grumman) in Redondo Beach during graduate school and was with the company for almost 40 years. Mike and his wife, Jacqueline, were married in 1990 and have two sons, Alec and Adam. They joined Ascension Lutheran Church in 1998, where Mike has served on Church Council, including a term as Vice President, and on Call Committees. Mike enjoys serving as a scripture reader, is an avid gardener, and admits to loving to play with his HO model trains.
