Darren was born and raised as a Lutheran in Allentown, Pennsylvania, before attending the Air Force Academy. He moved to the South Bay in 1997 to work at TRW, where he met his wife Carlie. Darren earned his Master’s and PhD Degrees from USC in Astronautical Engineering. His company, NXTRAC, has supported over 40 space missions since 2012. Darren and Carlie joined Ascension in 2008 after the birth of their son Sam. Both his son Sam and his daughter Lizzie (2011) were baptized at Ascension and attended the Preschool. Darren has served on Church Council and on the Call Committee after Pastor Lien. Darren has a deep interest in biblical archeology, history of the church and early Christianity.
