Amy Romano was born in Toronto, Canada in the early 90s while her father started a church there. Raised in the South Bay, she has been singing since she could remember, noting that music has always been the biggest part of her life. Professionally trained at 5 and 16 in opera, rock pop, gospel and musical theatre, she grew up in a close and extremely musical household with constant worship to God. Formerly a worship leader and creative arts director, she now teaches both vocals and beginners piano at Coast Music with over 25 years of singing experience and 8 years of teaching experience. She has 10 years of musical theatre camp experience including at Rolling Hills Church and was brought to Ascension by one of her favorite camps: PAWs! Amy was the musical theatre director and vocal coach for Performing Arts Workshops at Ascension in 2019 and fell in love with the church, officially joining in March of 2023. She has been leading people into worship since 15, with a heart to see people have encounters with the holy spirit through worship and ministry. She has been overjoyed to be working as the children's choir and performance director for two years and recently now as a youth leader. She has grown a deep passion for sparking love of music and, most importantly, a love for Jesus at a young age. Amy's desire is to see people grow in relationship with the Lord and have encounters with the living God who transforms hearts through creative gifts, fellowship, prayer, and scripture. She is excited to see where God takes her with a thankful heart she can use her gifts to give back to God and His people.
