We continue to explore Jesus as Prophet, Priest, and King.  As the great High Priest, Jesus was a gift to the world:

  1. Anticipation of the Gift: There is anticipation associated with receiving gifts, particularly during Christmas. This anticipation is likened to the excitement of receiving the gospel, which is described as a life-changing gift.

  2. Unwrapping the Gift: The act of unwrapping the gift symbolizes the process of understanding and accepting the gospel. The true treasure within this gift is repentance and baptism, which leads to forgiveness and life change.

  3. Life Change through Salvation: The gospel is not merely a set of beliefs but a transformative experience that can change lives. Move from a state of worry and control to one of trust and peace in God.

  4. Call to Action: The message concludes with a call for the congregation to prepare their hearts for Jesus, to engage with the gospel actively, and to bear fruit in their lives. Create space in your heart for God. Repentance is not just a feeling but an action that leads to behavioral change. Like John the Baptist's call for repentance, true change is reflected in one's actions and relationships with others.
