Niger Missionary Housing
Ashley Moman is a true missionary's missionary. She has put it on her heart to bring comfort to Christian missionaries who come to the African country of Niger by managing and maintaining housing during their stay. Pastor Scott brought her plight to our attention during Lent, 2015, when Ascension members raised over $4,000 to support this most worthy project. Ashley generates a blog where you can monitor the work she is doing and the lives she touches in this arid wilderness. You may also view this video she made to see the facility she keeps up for visiting missionaries. We would like to continue our support for Ashley through prayer and funding—either through her blog or our benevolence center.
Navajo Church—Bisti, New Mexico
Each year, we lead a summer mission trip to the beautiful Bisti Badlands—a remote Navajo community located in the heart of an Indian reservation in New Mexico. Though they live within the borders of the United States, our Navajo brothers and sisters live on less than $5,000 a year and often without many of the necessities (electricity, running water, etc.) which we take for granted. While there, our student missionaries participate in roofing, dry walling, painting, framing, demolition and many more construction tasks. Whether you’re a new missionary recruit (no previous experience needed) or returning veteran, we strongly encourage your participation in this year’s (July 10-16) phenomenal trip of a lifetime.
